This year, as part of Volunteer Appreciation Week, the Residents and Sisters hosted a Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon. Msgr. Bazan, Resident, started off the luncheon with a beautiful opening prayer thanking the volunteers and giving a blessing over the midday meal. Sr. Camille Rose, then led the Litany of Thanksgiving for our volunteers.
Over lunch, our volunteers shared their experiences with each other, learning all the different ways that they each help with the Residents and around the home. It was so lovely to have everyone together, seeing how it takes many different people, each with their own gifts to make our home as beautiful as it is. And it’s very touching when people realize just how important their “small” acts of kindness really are in the lives of others.
Just before dessert, the Little Sisters gifted the volunteers with a beautiful community song as a personal thank you for all the love and joy brought into our home because of them.
During dessert the volunteers watched a presentation from the Residents. It featured pictures of different volunteers working throughout the home. Several Residents were so touched with the kindness of the volunteers that they recorded Thank You messages for the volunteers, including it in the presentation.
It was a wonderful time and we are so grateful to all of our volunteers for everything that they do here. May God continue to bless you all!
