A call from a young woman in northern Virginia a few weeks ago led to a charming activity on Saturday, July 13. Mary called explaining that she was the maid of honor for her friend, Genny, who will be married in October. Since the whole bridal party was composed of young women who are active in their faith, and the bride is someone who feels called to service, Mary asked if they could plan a morning of service in our home as part of their bachelorette party. While in college Genny and her fiancé had volunteered at our home in Scranton, PA, and so Mary naturally thought of coming to our home in Washington.
We were happy top oblige this request, and together with Mary planned a bridal shower brunch for the Residents (ladies only of course!), and the young women in the bridal party. We chose a French themed brunch since the next day was Bastille Day. The roosters in some of the photos are the traditional symbol of France.
Hope you enjoy these few photos of our morning together!
